3.Horizon Cloud services in the Workspace ONE Console

Deploying Edge Services to Site 1 (Bangalore)

Note ensure you launch this wizard from your ControlCenter server

  1. On your ControlCenter server
    • Open your Site 1 Browser
      • from the favourites bar
        • select WS1 Cloud Console
  1. In the Cloud Services Console
    • below email address
      • enter your assigned DWPG login account
        • select CONTINUE
  1. In the Cloud Services Console
    • below your assigned DWPG login account
      • in the Password area
        • enter Pa$$w0rd
          • select SIGN IN
  1. In the MY Workspace console
    • below Horizon Cloud
      • select LAUNCH
  1. In the Welcome to VMware Horizon Universal Console window
    • In the Horizon 8 area
      • click the SELECT button
  1. In the What's a Horizon Edge? window
    • in the Horizon Edge area
      • select START DEPLOYMENT
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • below 1. Requirements
      • next to I confirm that all requirements are met.
        • select the CheckBox
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • below 2. General Information
      • next to Horizon Edge name
        • enter Edge-BLR
    • select NEXT
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 3. Capacity Provider
      • next to Capacity type
        • from the dropdown
        • select Private data center
      • next to Location
        • enter Bangalore (India)
    • select NEXT
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 4. Horizon Edge Gateway
      • next to FQDN
        • enter edge.techseals.co
    • select NEXT

Initiation of Gateway edge services starts, it will take under a minute

  • you will automatically be redirected to Step 5
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 5. Download Horizon Edge Gateway Appliance
      • select DOWNLOAD
    • select NEXT
  • Ensure that the Edge Gateway download starts
    It will take about 4 minutes to download. Move on to Step 13
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 6. Deploy and Pair Horizon Edge Gateway
      • in line with Pairing Code
        • select the ClipBoard Icon
        • Paste the Pairing Code in NotePad++
  1. On your ControlCenter server
    • Site 1 Bangalore browser
      • from the Bookmarks Bar
        • select the vCenter-01a shortcut
      • In the username area
      • In the Password area
        • enter Pa$$w0rd
      • select LOGIN

Once the Download completes, you will be in a position to complete the next task

  1. In the vSphere Admin Console
    • Under Hosts & Clusters
      • expand the Inventory
        • select esxi-01a.techseals.co
          • right-click
        • from the Menu
          • select Deploy OVF Template
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 1. Select an OVF template area
      • next to Local File
        • select the Radio button
        • select UPLOAD FILES
  1. In the File Explorer window
    • In the Quick Access Bar
      • select Downloads
    • In the Name area
      • select horizon-edge-gw-2.X.X.ova
    • select Open
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 1. Select an OVF template area
      • below Local File
        • Note the OVA is selected
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 2. Select a name and folder area
      • next to Virtual machine name
        • enter edge-gw-BLR
        • expand the inventory
          • select Region01A
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 3. Select a compute resource area
      • expand the inventory
        • select esxi-01A
        • next to Automatically power on deployed VM
          • select the check box
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 4. Review details area
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 5. License agreements area
      • next to I accept all license agreements
        • select the checkbox
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 6. Select storage area
      • next to CorpLun01a
        • select the radio button
      • next to Select virtual disk format
        • from the dropdown
          • select Thin Provision
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 7. Select networks area
      • ensure the Destination Network is VM Network
    • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 8. Customize Template area
      • in the Application area > Root Password area
        • In the Password and Confirm Password areas
          • enter Pa$$w0rd
    • scroll down
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 8. Customize Template area
      • in the Application area > Pairing Code area
        • switch to Notepad++
          • copy the Pairing Code
        • In the Pairing Code area
          • Paste the Pairing Code
    • scroll down
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 8. Customize Template area
      • in the Networking Properties area
        • In the Default Gateway area
          • enter 192.168.110.1
        • In the Domain Name area
          • enter techseals.co
        • In the Domain Search Path area
          • enter techseals.co
        • In the Domain Name Servers area
          • enter 192.168.110.10
        • In the Network IP Address area
          • enter 192.168.110.86
        • In the Network Netmask area
          • enter 255.255.255.0
          • copy the Pairing Code
    • select NEXT
  1. In the Deploy OVF Template Wizard
    • in the 9. Ready to complete area
    • select FINISH

OVA deployment will take about 5 minutes

Note: step 29 should not be necessary, validate that your EDGE Gate powers on automatically, If it does not then complete step29

  1. In the vSphere Client
    • select the Edge-GW-BLR virtual machine
      • right-click
        • in the Menu
          • select Power  >  Power ON

      • switch back to the Add Horizon Edge window
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 6. Deploy and Pair Horizon Edge Gateway
      • Note next Pair Status
        • Pairing Successful
    • select NEXT

Keep Refreshing the area, using the right Refresh button , wait for Pairing to be Successful. This can take up to 15 minutes

  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 7. Connection Server
      • enter the following next to:
        • Connection Server URL
        • Credential Type
          • ensure the Username radio button is selected
        • Domain
          • techseals.co
        • Username
          • administrator
        • Password
          • Pa$$w0rd
    • select FINISH
Deploying Edge Services to Site 2 (Seattle)
  1. In the Horizon Universal Console
    • Under Capacity > Horizon Edges
      • next to ADD
        • select the dropdown
      • select Horizon 8
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • below 1. Requirements
      • next to I confirm that all requirements are met.
        • select the CheckBox
      • select NEXT
  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • below 2. General Information
      • next to Horizon Edge name
        • enter Edge-Seattle
    • select NEXT

    • next to 3. Capacity Provider

          • select Seattle (United States)
    • select NEXT

OVA deployment will take approximately 5  minutes

  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 6. Deploy and Pair Horizon Edge Gateway
      • Note next Pair Status
        • Pairing Successful
    • select NEXT

Keep Refreshing the area, using the right Refresh button , wait for Pairing to be Successful, this can take up to 15 - 20 min

  1. In the Add Horizon Edge window
    • next to 7. Connection Server
      • enter the following next to:
        • Connection Server URL
          • https://Horizon-02a.techseals.co
        • Credential Type
          • ensure the Username radio button is selected
        • Domain
          • techseals.co
        • Username
          • administrator
        • Password
          • Pa$$w0rd
      • select FINISH
